Chelsea’s full squad was revealed against Nottingham Forest as Reece James made the decision

Chelsea return to action on Saturday night when they visit Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are fighting to secure European football, with the Blues sitting seventh in the table with three games remaining. Their current position would secure them a place in next season’s Europa Conference League, but they will be eyeing a top-six finish which will earn them a place in the Europa League.

The Blues are two points adrift of sixth-placed Newcastle United and six adrift of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. They face a relegation-fighting Forest side this weekend. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team is three points clear of the bottom three.

And Pochettino will be boosted for the visit to the City Ground after revealing in his pre-match press conference on Friday that club captain Rreece James could be available. Elsewhere, midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu returned to full squad training while goalkeeper Robert Sanchez returned to partial squad training.

“The most important thing is that he (James) is with us,” Pochettino said. “Always having your captain is a massive boost. We have an amazing relationship and he is an amazing player.

“It’s not easy when you come from a long-term injury. If he can play five, 10, 15, 20 (minutes) or half an hour, it would be amazing.”
