Woolwich shooting leaves man in his 20s fighting for his life in hospital

A man is fighting for his life after being shot in Woolwich. Armed officers rushed to Ogilby Street at 10.35pm last night (June 10) to reports of shots fired near Granby House.

No victims could be found at the scene, although police were later told a man in his 20s was hospitalized with gunshot wounds. He remains in critical condition in hospital.




A crime scene is in place as police continue to hunt for the attacker. Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Met.

A spokesman said: “Police were called at around 10.35pm on Monday 10 June to reports of a firearm being discharged in the vicinity of Granby House, SE18.

“Officers, including armed officers, attended the scene but no victims could be located. Later, the police were informed that a man, aged over 20 years, went to the hospital, suffering from gunshot wounds. He remains hospitalized in critical condition.

“A crime scene remains in place. No arrests; investigations into the circumstances continue. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD 7941/10Jun.”
