The opening date for Leicestershire’s newest Aldi store has been revealed

The opening date for Leicestershire’s newest Aldi store has been revealed. The store, in Ellistown, near Coalville, is part of the Swinfen Vale development on the newly built Sence Valley Road.

The development is one half of the South East Coalville expansion project, with the other half being Hugglescote Grange. Together they will eventually lead to 2,700 new homes in the area.

A new 400-seat school is also being built in the area, just off Beveridge Lane. Aldi is expected to be one of a number of stores to open in Swinfen Vale.

The supermarket, which bosses say has created 30 jobs, will be opened by Olympic medalist Sam Oldham. Aldi is a long-term supporter of Team GB.

Aldi store manager Emily Parker-Raoof said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Coalville. It’s shaping up to be a special day and having Olympic hero Sam Oldham join us will make it a morning to remember.”

Gymnast Sam added: “I’m so excited to be opening the new Aldi store; it will be great to chat with customers and a great way for me to thank Aldi for their support of Team GB.”

The store will open on Thursday, May 23, with the first customers due to walk through the doors at 8am.
