The FA Cup final referee Man City vs Man United has been confirmed for the Manchester derby

Referee Andy Madley has been chosen for the 2024 Emirates FA Cup final between Manchester United and Manchester City at Wembley later this month.

United and City will go head-to-head in the final for the second consecutive season. United reached the final after a penalty shoot-out victory over Coventry City last month.

Erik ten Hag’s side won 4-2 on penalties after blowing a 3-0 lead in normal time. For City, Bernardo Silva scored the only goal against Chelsea in the other semi-final.

Madley, who will referee the game on Saturday, May 25, expressed his pride when he received the call. He told the FA: “It is an absolute delight and honor to receive this appointment.

“Domesally, it’s the biggest game of any referee’s career, the one we all dream of when we finish the refereeing course. I can only imagine what it will be like to lead the two teams in front of a sold-out Wembley.

“It is truly humbling to receive this appointment following my hard work this season.”
