Serie A defender ‘interested’ in Manchester United move and other transfer rumours

Manchester United are being linked with a number of potential new signings ahead of the summer transfer window.

United are currently reeling from their 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday night in the Premier League. Defeat at Selhurst Park dealt a major blow to the Reds’ chances of securing European qualification with just three games left to play.

Erik ten Hag’s side will now prepare to face league leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford this weekend. United also have an FA Cup final against Manchester City to look forward to later this month at Wembley Stadium.

Off the pitch, rumors are already starting to swirl around the transfer business that United may carry out when the window reopens. The latest speculation concerns a defender and a striker.

Reports in Italy claim United are interested in Inter Milan defender Dezel Dumfries. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, contract negotiations between Inter and Dumfries have stalled, with his current deal set to expire in 2025.

As a result, it has been suggested that Dumfries could leave the Serie A title winners this summer. The report claims the Netherlands international would be interested in a move to United, a deal that would be more likely to happen if Ten Hag remains in charge.
