50-year-old man stabbed to death in Enfield as police launch murder investigation

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 50s was stabbed on a quiet residential street in north London.

The man was found by police and paramedics in Millicent Grove in Enfield just after midnight today (May 7). Despite their efforts, he died on the spot. His close relatives were told.

A 16-year-old boy also suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds, while a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and grievous bodily harm. He is still in a police station in north London.

Meanwhile, the crime scene is still in place.

DCI Sarah Lee said: “I understand the shock that such an incident will cause the local community and I want to thank them for their patience while we carried out our work at the scene.

“Everyone involved was known to each other, an arrest has been made and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

“Residents will continue to see both specialists and local officers in and around the location over the coming days; if you have any concerns or information that you think might help, please speak to them, contact your local police team or call 101.”
