Man ‘seriously injured’ after being ‘stabbed’ at Birmingham club with glass bottle

A clubber has been seriously injured after being ‘stabbed’ with a bottle in a Birmingham nightclub. The incident happened at a site in Lower Temple Street in the Newtown area of ​​the city shortly after 3.30am on Sunday (May 5).

The 20-year-old victim was hit in the thigh and was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a “serious condition”. Another man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested but now West Midlands Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

In a statement, a spokesman for the force said: “Were you in Lower Tower Street, Birmingham on Sunday night? We were called after a man was assaulted in a club shortly after 3.30am.

“The man, aged 20, was stabbed in the thigh with a glass bottle and remains in a serious condition in hospital. A man in his 30s has been arrested but we are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area that night and may have information about what happened.
