Man named and charged after rugby ‘knife attack’

A man has been charged following an alleged knife attack in Rugby. Max Gall is due to appear at Warwick Crown Court in June.

Police were called to an incident on Trussell Way on Sunday (May 5). A man was allegedly attacked with a bladed weapon before a suspect fled the scene, Warwickshire Police said.

Gall, 23, of Lodge Road in Rugby, was charged with wounding with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, Warwickshire Police said. He was remanded in custody pending trial and will appear at Warwick Crown Court on Thursday, June 6.

Police said the alleged victim was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries. Police described the alleged incident as isolated and said there was “no wider risk to the public”.
