A man has been arrested following a fight in Amesbury

Officers from Wiltshire Police have made an arrest in connection with a disturbance in Amesbury.

We were called to the Boscombe Down Road area at approximately 10pm on May 4 following reports of a large number of people fighting.

A man was injured in the head and shoulder during the incident.

Inquiries were ongoing and a 17-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH and affray.

He was taken to Gablecross custody for questioning and has since been released on conditional bail while further inquiries are completed.

Inspector Russell Griffin said: “We understand that this incident may have caused concern in the local community – please be assured that an arrest has been made and we are continuing our investigation today. Local neighborhood officers will be patrolling the area – if you have any concerns or would like to report anything relating to this specific disturbance, please approach them.”
