The Hudson’s Bay store in Regina’s Cornwall Center will close for good in 2025

Hudson’s Bay says it will not renew the expiring lease for its Regina store in Cornwall Centre, opting instead to close the location for good in April 2025.

The store was temporarily closed on April 10 after someone deliberately set fire to a clothing rack.

Deputy Fire Chief Dustin McCullough said at the time that there was significant smoke and water damage to the store.

The store has since reopened.

According to a Hudson’s Bay spokesman, the fire did not factor into the decision not to renew the lease. They said in an email that these decisions are made “after careful consideration and lengthy review.”

Regarding store employees, the spokesperson wrote: “We are committed to treating each associate with respect and fairness through this process, and transfer opportunities will be explored where possible.”

The Saskatoon location in Hudson’s Bay will continue to operate, the spokesperson said.
