Crews respond to electrical fire in Oxfordshire

Fire crews were called to an incident involving a telegraph pole that caught fire overnight in a village north-west of Oxford.

The electrical fire broke out in Yarnton on Cassington Road, a main road in Yarnton, and was brought under control by fire crews from Kidlington and Oxford.

Yarnton is about six miles outside of Oxford.

A spokesman said Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service was called at 11.54pm on Monday 13 May.

On arrival, crews used a dry powder extinguisher to extinguish the fire before handing the incident over to the electrical panel.

The spokesman said crews left the scene at around 1.30am.

The cause remains unknown at the time of writing.
