Liverpool have a new difference maker for the Arne Slot era as the wonderkid prepares to seal his place in the first team

Michael Owen says Harvey Elliott is a difference maker at Liverpool after his memorable goal against Tottenham.

The 21-year-old scored the Reds’ fourth goal in a 4-1 win over Ange Postecoglou’s side at Anfield. He received the ball just outside the penalty area, cut inside and left-footed into the top corner to the amazement of the Anfield crowd.

The goal was Elliott’s third in the Premier League this season and his first since scoring against Luton in February. He has marked the youngster to start the last two Premier League games as he looks to make an impact on the first team.

Giving his reaction to the goal, Owen suggested Elliott should now be first choice for Liverpool under new manager Arne Slot after impressing with his performances over the past two weeks.

“It was amazing, wasn’t it? Absolutely stunning,” Owen told Premier League Productions after Elliott’s goal. “It was one of those, as soon as it hit her. He knows it’s going right into the top corner.

“A wonderful strike. He still has a lot going for him, he dances over a challenge and then hits it incredibly well.
